Spring Fever.
Winter in New York starts late. We don’t even see our leaves change to those vibrant, rich colors of orange and and yellow until it’s nearly snowing in New England. Which in turn, means that Spring will come late. Whether Mr. Groundhog has seen his shadow or not, the bone chilling winds and icy cold air relieve us of any positive thoughts of Spring coming soon. But just because mother nature has us inside hiding behind a heated blanket, covered in cashmere and wool socks, doesn’t mean we can’t yet dream and fantasize about the delicious new trends making their way to fashionistas all over the world and especially in New York City, where we can strut with candy colors, in tulle and lace as if Fifth Avenue was our very own Betsey Johnson fashion show.
In the Spring, there is a scent of freshness in the air. It’s as if the season was meant to bloom new trends for global fashion slaves. We spend our winters dreaming of Spring in Paris, and we spend our summers dreaming of Fall in New York. What makes it so interesting is the transition. At the end of March, we are still wearing our wool peacoats and knee length boots or ankle booties and leather gloves. Literally, the next day, it’s Spring and we are all in a frenzy to find the right shade of red lipstick, cotton tops, and flats. So this year, let’s prepare a little early. I have studied and carefully chosen what I think to be Spring’s must haves, complete with transition pieces that can be worn to start the blooming of Spring’s trends, but when the season finally hits, we can go full out fashion forward.
This season is all about color and texture, so have fun with it. It’s like going back to when you were a little girl. Those days when you got to play dress up with Mommy’s jewelry and heels. Layering patterns, textures and colors, makes it playful, but it also makes it your own.

1.) PRADA-This clutch in turquoise reminds me of tropical islands with blue green water and fluffy white sand. I can almost hear the ocean waves….oh wait…still winter yeah. But this sexiness comes in not only hot turquoise but hot pink as well, and on those nights we want to feel like Malibu Barbie, this clutch would be the ultimate accessory.
